There’s a big difference between this and actually pulling the trigger in full development. Of course an Oblivion remake/remaster is in the cards and has been for years and years. The real question is if they want to spend resources fully working on it if they think they can be doing something more profitable (Starfield DLC, ES6, Fallout 5, etc).

To add to what the other person said, someone from the company that is currently working on the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has mentioned that they have worked on porting Oblivion to Unreal Engine. And with two different leaks saying the same thing I think we can be sure an Oblivion Remaster was (and maybe is) in the works.

Bethesda uses the creation engine for a reason, an UE5 oblivion would not feel like oblivion. Aug 2, 2023 · Bethesda made the original Oblivion, that’s including all the art, textures, engine, story, etc. if they wanna remake their OWN game I see no problem. Skyblivion can coexist as this remake seems targeted for Xbox and console players and honestly Skyblivion still has the appeal of being pc exclusive and having mods.

Jul 31, 2023 · Oblivion is just... still a modern Bethesda game. It isn't far enough removed from Fallout 3, Skyrim or even Fallout 4 to justify remaking it from the ground up. Again, I'm a hardcore TES fan so odds are I would purchase a remaster or remake of Oblivion regardless. But I'd way rather see Morrowind on modern consoles with a fresh coat of paint.
