This is not an exhaustive family tree by any means, more just shows Zoro direct connection to the shimotsuki name. Ryuma is not Zoro's great grandfather.

In the past section, it talks about Ryuma and his actions first then the establishment of the family. It wasn’t explicitly stated that Shimotsuki Furiko and Shimotsuki Kozaboru aren’t the descendants of Ryuma.

Most of his achievements were done thanks to the support of luffy. I feel like this is more of a goku backstory where he's from a group of warriors , but still a nobody because of his family.

Mar 2, 2023 · Oda focuses on formative memories instead of history. Zoro didn't know his family so that isn't really formative, it's just history. What matters is the family he had and the family he made and those histories have been covered. His time as a child training with Kuina as rival is the formative memory that matters.

Mar 12, 2023 · It's been revealed that both Zoro and Kuina are descendants of the same family. But there is no any mention of Tashigi, and she looks almost the same as Kuina. I doubt Oda would draw Tashigi similarly to Kuina without any reason. So the only possibility is Tashigi must be from the same family tree.

Finding out who Zoro's parents are would not have led to shit, so better to leave it out.

If Luffy's family tree was treated like that, I believe people would riot. I'm honestly suprised only one person in the comments here agrees with me, and on the basis they didn't have access to SBS so far. Mar 5, 2023 · It's just a family tree explained that doesn't affect Zoro on a personal level, except realising he descends from THAT Ryuma, which would've needed Hyogoro making humongous leaps in his thought process regardless. Not every charachter needs a proper backstory, and this isn't even a Zoro backstory, it's just a simple ass family tree.
