How To Represent a Software Architecture ... - Shaping Software
Oct 5, 2008 · “The execution view of software architecture shows how modules are mapped onto the hardware of the system. This view shows the run-time entities and their attributes and how these entities are assigned to machines and networks.
An execution view helps practitioners to describe, analyze, and communicate what a software system does at runtime and how it does it. In this paper, we present an approach to define and document viewpoints that guide the construction and use of execution views for an existing large and complex software-intensive system.
The execution architecture determines largely the realtime and performance behavior of a system. Hard real time is characterized as ”missing a deadline” will result in system failure, while soft real time will result ”only” in dissatisfaction. An incremental design approach is described.

An Execution Viewpoint Catalog for Software-Intensive and …
Jan 1, 2010 · Execution views are important assets that contribute to respond effectively to change, e.g., providing insights to analyze, understand, and communicate the various aspects of the actual runtime structure and behavior of a software system.
Developing Architecture Views - Open Group
In TOGAF, architecture views are the key artifacts in an architecture description. Stakeholders are people who have key roles in, or concerns about, the system; for example, as users, developers, or managers. Different stakeholders with different roles in the system will have different concerns.

In this paper, we present an approach to define execution viewpoints for an existing large and complex software-intensive system. This definition approach enables the customization and extension of a set of predefined viewpoints to address the requirements of a …
A top‐down approach to construct execution views of a large software …
This paper presents an approach to construct execution views, which are views that describe what the software of a software-intensive system does at runtime and how it does it. The approach represents an architecture reconstruction solution based on a metamodel, a set of viewpoints, and a dynamic analysis technique.
