That happened when the view was first displayed in the preview window launched when you upload and also when I opened that sheet from Chrome. In both cases, simply refreshing the page made almost all of the text reappear (but not the bits that Shawn first posted about).

There is a field that has data (as a string) in it but when I build a text table in Tableau 2018.2 I am getting a "NULL" value. In viewing that datasource I have confirmed there is text there (it is NOT null).

May 21, 2020 · Hi Shantanu, to eliminate the empty cells, change your calculations to return numeric values rather than null. I am not using null in our calculations. You can see that it is not working. If possible test on tableau workbooks that I provided. Here's one example of a calculation that returns null.

In Tableau v9.3 you will be prompted to switch the data source to the extract on TS (Before 9.3, you have to connect to the extract on TS and select 'Replace Data Source' to change from the local extract to the one on TS).
