X-49[1][2][3][4] was a skilled and intelligent android assassin built by scientists under the employ of Aku. He was forced out of retirement by Aku to destroy Samurai Jack. He only appeared in Episode L: Tale of X-49. Due to the experimental personality chip placed in him by his creator, he was able to develop a personality and emotions.

Episode L: Tale of X-49[1][2] (Or Tale of X49[3][4]) is the eleventh episode of the fourth season of Samurai Jack and the fiftieth episode overall. The tragic story of a robot with emotions, being blackmailed by Aku to hunt down Jack.

X-49 is a minor antagonist in the 2001 animated series Samurai Jack, appearing in "Episode L: Tale of X-49" as the titular main protagonist.

Bittersweet Ending: Jack survives X-49's assassination attempt but X-49 is dead and the same fate may be in store for Lulu. Crosses into Downer Ending territory when one considers that X4-9 was forced to hunt down Jack and can be considered as another Aku victim.

Nov 27, 2021 · Why did Aku send X-49 to kill Jack under the treat of killing his beloved Lulu? He was an old assassin bot with only guns. Samurai Jack has bested the most advanced robots in the future of Aku even entire armies of Aku's robots far superior and capable in battle than X-49.

X-49 is a minor antagonist of Samurai Jack. He was voiced by Daran Norris. X-49 is a robot who deals with emotions after a scientist put a chip in him. He resembles 1940s film noir characters and the T-800. Daran Norris did a great job voicing him. He took good care of his dog Lulu until she was taken by Aku.
