Type "golf" in to yt 5+ years ago and you only got Rick & Crossfield videos. Rick's also very family friendly and positive etc so has a wide appeal. Can't knock the amount of content he puts out and covers reviews, course vlogs, one on one's with pros etc.

Nov 29, 2021 · Rick Shiels and Mark Crossfield, in particular, are cases of "right place, right time." They're more skilled at the YouTube game than they are the golf game, quite frankly. And I think both of those guys would agree with my assessment.

Rick seems like a real nice guy, but I don't think his videos offer that much. Other people do better tips/coaching, other people do better reviews, other people do better banter. His main selling point is simply doing all of the above "just OK" with better than average production value IMO.

Nov 8, 2017 · I actually enjoy watching mid handicapper Rob test clubs for Rick Shiels. However, I am a little puzzled with some of the results I recently saw with a few driver reviews. Rob recorded a drive of 259 yards total, 233 of carry with swing speed of 93 using a Srixon z545 and was over 270 yards with an Aeroburner driver in another review.

Mar 24, 2022 · I saw this last night, and generally enjoy Shiels, but ended up watching him play Royal Birkdale from a few months ago as part of the Break 75 series. Shiels obviously isn't a tour pro, but if the footage is to be believed, he's a really solid player - and realistic about what competent golf actually is.
