Is RG59 coax cable OK for digital cable/HD? | SatelliteGuys.US
Feb 13, 2009 · The only issues I see with RG59 is that I do not have connectors readly available for it, and then the other issue is that some of the stuff works great, where others are poorly made. The reason why we do not want RG59 for use with satellite is because its not big enough to handel voltage coming from the recever to the LNBF
RG6 connector on RG59 cable | SatelliteGuys.US
Jul 12, 2020 · I have a short (<15 ft) run of RG59 cable from the dmarc into my apartment. Sadly the RG59 coming out of the wall is too short to be usable, so there is a barrel connector to some RG6, then into a cable modem. I'm having sporadic trouble maintaining carrier on the modem, which has gotten much worse since the weather has gotten warmer.

The amplifier is a universal RCA with a fixed RG59 coax that connects to the TV, will it be ok ? Basically RG6 connected from antenna to amp and a...
Is there a difference between dish network co-ax cable vs. some …
Jun 8, 2009 · The outside cable is RG6. I just got the Hopper, so from node to hopper, I'll get the RG6 cable then, as currently the cable sitting here are Rg-59. RG59/U Cable - SatelliteGuys.US
Jan 12, 2011 · As I mentioned before, cable and sat are completely different systems, rg59 and rg6 make a huge difference in satellite, we don't use RF like cable. Sat uses low voltage to power the lnb, rg59 will burn out. I've been to tc's where the customer swore up and down his rg59 was fine, replaced all the fittings, diplexer, lnb, etc.
SWM on RG59 Cable | SatelliteGuys.US
Apr 25, 2010 · If the Series 59 cable was swept to 600MHz at the time of manufacture, it could be the problem. Years ago when cable systems were only 330 or 450MHz, coax was manufactured with a bandwidth of 600MHz. Nowadays that isn't an issue. If it is 20 year old cable, you could be trying to push 1450MHz over cable that was built for 600MHz.
Using DirecTV cable for OTA antenna | SatelliteGuys.US
Oct 30, 2013 · RG59 doesn't work well at all with OTA signals.

If the cable run is real long you may need a pre-amp to boost the signal, how long is the cable that you're trying to use? The F-connector on some of those Antennas Direct antennas break loose very easily, check that it doesn't feel loose and wobbly, if it is, the ...
Using existing rg59 - SatelliteGuys.US
Jun 9, 2009 · When I ditched cable and changed to Dish, the first installer was lazy and used the existing RG59 cable to connect between the then SW64 and the STB's using, obviously, legacy LNBF's. No problems. Over time, the old SW64 was changed out for the DP34, then the DPP44, along with using the Dish Pro LNBF's.
Should I replace any RG59 cable I have with RG6?
Feb 24, 2014 · RG59 is supposedly high loss cable, not recommended for a cable run of any length. I used it one time because I had a lot, but have since got rid of that for all Rg-6 cable. I did run some 59 under the house from a splitter to another tv, and am about to throw that, soon as it is warm enough to make me want to tackle the crawl-space lol.
RG6 vs RG6U cable - SatelliteGuys.US
Sep 19, 2006 · RG59 comes in several flavors, from those with very high signal loss and just one bare wire running instead of a braid that the better ones have. Those with a solid braid are excellent, but still nothing like the cheapest RG6. You have to see the specs for the exact cable you have to know exactly what you have.
