History. Although only 2 games were compatible with this NES accessory, it played a much larger marketing role.

R.O.B. is an unlockable character in the Nintendo DS video game Mario Kart DS (unlocked by completing either all cups on the nitro category or the retro category in Mirror mode). In the game, he is the only character outside of the Mario series to appear.
