Dec 19, 2017 · Hello. I am doing a major system upgrade to a beige, Revision A ROM Power Mac G3. I have ordered 768 MB of RAM, new PRAM battery, 120 GB IDE HDD, Mac OS X 10.2, and a firewire PCI card (already has a USB card😀). However I would like to upgrade the graphics on it. I know there is a VRAM slot for a 4 MB chip. Where can I get one?

May 28, 2006 · The beige G3 has a 15 pins (two rows) Mac connector. The genuine Apple cable also supplies a code that tells the computer what kind of display is attached. If that is an Apple 17 inch monitor, it probably uses a standard VGA (three rows of pins) cable on the Monitor end.

Jan 26, 2016 · The B&W G3 needs the +5 volt trickle power to start up. If you have a voltmeter, you can test the power supply to determine if the trickle power is present. The Apple P-S has a standard 20-pin ATX connector, so pin identifications #s can be found online.

Nov 14, 2005 · The plastic power actuator for the desktop model snaps in from the front of the chassis, so that it's held captive. If someone has damaged it badly enough that it has fallen back inside the case, it will undoubtedly need replacing. Check eBay for that as well, since it was used in a number of the desktop models (7200, 7300, 7500, 7600, and G3).

Oct 3, 2023 · Assuming that your G3 hasn't been upgraded with a PCI graphics card having a (PC-type/VGA) HD-15 display port, you're using the onboard graphics port with its DB-15 port. A Mac-to-VGA adapter would be needed, if you plan to connect a third-party display to that port.
