May 27, 2016 · I'm considering an out of state 2001 Boxster S and my concern is leg room. I'm 6'2", at the upper limit so I wanted to test sit a Boxster before proceeding. An '06 seemed comfortable, enough leg room but I wonder if this was increased since '01. Aside from reliable info, anyone in Seattle willing to let me try on your '01 Boxster for size?

Jan 4, 2011 · Of course, they did pick a Boxster as the number one choice in the "best buy for a $12k Porsche". For me I think it's truly going to come down to the right car at the right time. Could be a Boxster. Could be a 3.2 Carrera. Could be something else! BTW do you know how hard it is to find a good used Boxster with TC / PSM and heated seats?!?

So I looked around and found that Porsche Classic makes a head unit called the PCCM Plus that seems to fit the bill. It looks like this: The problem is that because it's OEM Porsche, it's super expensive. Like, $1,700.

Jan 3, 2017 · Porsche uses Long-Life coolant in their cars. This means, it has replaced the Phosphates usually used as anti-corrosion agents with Nitrates. Porsche claims some proprietary formula, but I don't buy it. They don't make the Coolant, just contract with another Company to make it for them.

Oct 25, 2023 · I saw a very nice 986 sold on BaT last week with a Sony stereo upgrade that included the full works - Apple CarPlay, back up camera, etc. This was a Sony XAV-AX7000 unit, available from Amazon for ~ $650 (not including back up camera setup, etc). Pelican sells a Porsche factory upgrade unit (presumably not Sony) for more than twice that.
