What or who most influenced you to collect non-sports cards?
As a kid in the late 1960's to the early 1970's I collected baseball cards and some non-sports cards (Batman) but was pretty much out of collecting cards by high school. When I was going to grad school at the University of Washington in the mid-1980s, I stumbled onto a card shop in the university district & caught the bug again, getting heavily ...

I won the Topps 1965 Superman lot in the February Non-Sports Spotlight auction. I was after the NM-M cards without the "Watch Superman on T.V." backs. The two backs used to be equally available back in the 1980's... at least it seemed so to me, but now days, the backs without the TV line seem much more difficult to find and the TV backs seem ...

The start of wrapper collecting? - Vintage Non-sports Forum
I remember admiring the glossy page picturing Topps Baseball card wrappers in the Sport Americana Baseball Cards Price Guide by Dr. James Beckett that I acquired circa 1982-83 and then about a year later being intrigued by the ads in the Sport Americana Non-Sports Cards Price Guide by Christopher Benjamin in which John Neuner called himself "The Wrapper King".

Bobby Tutalo is the person who introduced me to test cards and sets. He's an encyclopedia of non sport card knowledge. He still deals at the Greater Boston Collectors Club Show (Shriners' Show) in Wilmington, MA every November.
The Toughest Non-Sports Cards to Find
Hi: I'm curious what the absolute hardest non-sports cards to find are from the vintage era (pre-1980). I'm aware of just a few, some only be anecdotal recollections over the years. -> "Sea Raiders" map card #45 seems to be one ultra tough card to find in any grade -> "US Caramel Presidents" (1932) "McKinley" card is another, so much so that some collectors consider their set complete without ...
Test Card Sets - Vintage Non-sports Forum
I wish I had collected non sports sets in the 90's and early 2000's. I was still collecting baseball. It seems that was a time when test sets were plentiful and more affordable. I always looked at and liked the non sport cards even when I entered the hobby in 1978, but I stayed with baseball. Who has the non sport card time machine this week?
Oldtimers on this board? - Vintage Non-sports Forum
There were not even any baseball card shop within 50 miles, let alone non-sports. The only source we had for baseball cards was the local ball field. I guess if you count the metal Wheaties License Plates, then I was exposed to non-sports in 1954, but no cardboard until 1966; didn't even know it existed. Jon _____ Jon Hardgrove
