Python needs a MySQL driver to access the MySQL database. In this tutorial we will use the driver "MySQL Connector". We recommend that you use PIP to install "MySQL Connector".

Connector/Python offers two implementations: a pure Python interface and a C extension that uses the MySQL C client library (see Chapter 8, The Connector/Python C Extension). This can be configured at runtime using the use_pure connection argument.
