Jos Coufreur was born in 1959 in Holland, and studied art at the royal Academy of Art in Den Bosch. He and his wife immigrated to New Zealand in 1987 and now have four children. They made Cambridge their home for 6 years, but now reside in Papamoa Bay - the Bay of Plenty.

Jos Coufreur paints with a unique style that fuses realism with expressive abstraction. His paintings feature energetic gestural strokes and bold colour combinations.
