Mar 14, 2021 · The Norton removal removes the actual program and registry data. This is just a nag advertisement. The simplest thing is to go into the Startup tab of Task Manager (right click on taskbar & select it) or into Start > Settings > Apps > Startup and disable it.

Then click to uninstall.After uninstalling it reboot your computer and then once you've logged in again, make sure to check your program files and if you see a Norton folder delete it.

Nov 6, 2021 · I used to have Norton 360 but no longer have it. When I had it, it apparently created a backup folder N360_Backup on an external hard drive. Since I no longer have the app, I want to delete the folder. I have tried changing permissions and changing it from read only but the folder properties will not change and there cannot delete the folder.

Jul 18, 2023 · I downloaded Norton a year or so ago, it got annoying, so I downloaded the Uninstaller. But now the Uninstaller has become spammy (keeps popping up a window asking me to upgrade the tool) and I cannot get rid of it.

Sep 27, 2018 · If Norton has one, run it and restart PC. Then make sure Defender is turned ON. Now I would do a complete disk cleanup and then restart PC. Type in Cortana>> cleanmgr.exe. and select it. >>Disk Cleanup. select a 2 pass or system clean too. select More Options and delete all but most recent restore point. (Create one before starting disk cleanup).

Nov 25, 2023 · In terms of Norton making your laptop slow that is not the case. It's actually one of the lighter antivirus, last time it was known bog down computers was in the mid 2000s. I hope. I remember McAfee and Norton from the old days, my gosh it was so annoying to deal with and it really bogged down my PC at the time.
