Mar 31, 2014 · The spray doesn't work. You are better letting the gutters loose 5-6 feet back in either direction and getting in there and clean the gutter sealant out, re attaching and then Geoseal. If it's not too high up bring your wife- she can grit her hand in there better and you will gain a new ground respect from her. :thumbsup:

What is your favorite brand and method of applying gutter seal to get consistent drip free results? (For aluminum gutters) :furious:

Aug 21, 2006 · It is clear you are using a quality sealant when you say it pulls the paint off the gutter. But the gutter will expand just the same as a mitered corner or as strip. And with expansion and contraction of two pieces into a weaker piece will cause more chances for leakage, especially if screws are used in fastening the strip-miter.

Dec 2, 2012 · We install a fair amount of gutters and repair our fair share as well. I would recommend using a roof coating type sealant. We buy the type that comes in a 1 gallon bucket. It is grey in color and can be poured into the gutter and brushed into the seams. Its thin enough to run into the seams yet think enough that it doesn't run through them.

Question for gutter installers - Contractor Talk
Jan 26, 2023 · Have a machine to form seamless 5/6" gutters. Getting ready to do a copper job, 2nd one now, and there's a 80' section the homeowner want's to do seamless. I have 3 other guys that can help for the day to carry it, but it still seems long even for that many guys. Are there ways to help carry the gutter without bending / issues?

I would then add lines to my gutter option proposal, which eliminates the liability from you, if they do not choose the premium solution. Ed

Mar 7, 2012 · After tuck pointing I had a few options when it came to the flashing joint. Mortar, mortar caulk, silicone, or Firestone EPDM lap sealant. I feel like the mortar won't adhere to the metal and will crack. I don't like the work ability of the mortar caulk...I always seem to make a bigger mess and ruin a nice flashing job.
