Unfortuanatly there have been a few Colleges (experiments) that have tryed to care for these chameleons with no sucess in keeping them alive. After the studies were done it was recommended not to keep them.

Nov 16, 2012 · Tropical, for sure. I use Reptisun 5.0. The desert model (10.0) is too much UVB radiation. The bulbs need replacement every 6 months for most chameleons like Veiled and panther Chams, but 8 months is OK if you own montane species like Kinyongia or Jackson's. The amount of previous usage of your current bulb would be of some help.

May 14, 2015 · I have no idea why this is ever raised as a concern. Veiled chameleons are a desert chameleon, and as a result, do much better in low humidity. Humidity levels of around 30% is about right for these guys. I live in Utah and never try to raise humidity levels. Pumping the cage full of water all the time can lead to infections and other issues.
