
Which are the 2 top cymbals brands, and would you rather
Feb 26, 2024 · I'll pick my hi hats and ride cymbals as separate elements, since those don't need to blend together quite the same way crashes do. There might have been a time where one brand could have met all of my needs, but as brands reduce or change their offerings I've found I can't always get exactly what I want from any one brand anymore.

Jun 20, 2010 · If the sounds work well together, then there's nothing wrong with mixing cymbal brands. Some people don't like to have anything matching on their set, visually or sonically. Some people like their cymbals to look and sound the same. Some people will settle for ultimately what they like the sound of. The latter, probably being the best option.

Apr 14, 2009 · I cannot stand mixing the brands of any of my drum equipment. If I have 1 Zildjian cymbal, I want all Zildjian cymbals - not Zildjians mixed with Sabians or Paistes. Same for drums and hardware. A Tama drumkit with Pearl hardware would piss me off. But a Tama kit with Tama hardware or a Pearl kit with Pearl hardware would be fine.

Jan 20, 2024 · Both of them are “stencil” brands where one factory/forge manufactures cymbals for a dozen or more brands, and stamps the brand ink on top, and ships it to the relevant distributor. In other words as you look at various inexpensive Turkish or Chinese brands, know that almost all of them were made in the same building by the same crew.

Nov 11, 2012 · Different companies use different methods to make their cymbals, so they'll sound different (theoretically). I'm not wondering if it's ethical, that's a dumb question. I'm thinking of narrowing it down to 1 ride cymbal fro Zildjian, Sabian, and Paiste.

Sep 26, 2020 · The one quality I believe Paiste has over other brands, and is a contributing factor to why I play them, is the unique high end sparkle they are able to achieve, even with their darkest sounding cymbals. I primarily play Masters Thins and Extra Thins, which are among Paiste’s darkest sounding cymbals. Even these have the high end Paiste zing.

Put for instance a raw cymbal that look alike, for 5 huge turkish brands: Bosphorus, Istanbul, Diril, Masterwork and Turkish, same type and size, no one sound properties are alike even being all the same alloy.
