Jul 29, 2022 · We loved both tours, and it was fun seeing Cliff Palace from the overlook and looks like a really interesting tour. Long House is defiantly a must do - the large amounts of buildings and interesting public spaces make it very interesting. Balcony House was fun because of the ladder and precarious location in the cliff.

May 9, 2022 · Even they didn't seem to like cliff-dwellings. Ancestral Pueblo villages in the Four Corners region were more often built on top of the mesas, rather than under overhanging cliff faces. It's a relatively short period that they built in the cliffs at places like Mesa Verde and Montezuma Castle.

Jun 26, 2024 · Just got back from Mesa Verde NP and wanted to give some timing advice if you were planning on taking the Cliff Palace and/or Balcony House tours this summer. We did Cliff Palace in the morning (11am) and Balcony House in the afternoon (3pm). This worked out great because both times, the tours were shaded.

Mar 14, 2022 · For those who don't know, there's currently a simple way to farm runes: From the Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace walk up to the cliff and fire an arrow at the bird below. It will fall to its death and grant around 13k runes. Now I've seen quite a few comments on how to ensure that the bird really does fall and not stop at the edge of the cliff.

Feb 6, 2024 · From doing research it seems that Cliff Palace is actually not very old compared to Cedar Mesa as some parts of it have had Clovis points found there. I’m conflicted because Cliff Palace is in Mesa Verde National Park so it makes me feel like I’m dumb for wanting to go to Cedar Mesa instead.
