Clarkins was a chain of discount department stores that was headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Co-founded by brothers-in-law William Clark and Elza Hopkins (Elza E. Hopkins 27 Aug 1921 - 15 Nov 2004) in 1946, the origin of Clarkins name can be quite easily guessed.

Apr 16, 2024 · I don’t think anyone is around to remember monkey island at Meyers Lake. The monkeys escaped into the neighborhoods. Reeked Havoc! That was the big round place where after that was planted all those petunias!

Jan 27, 2010 · I remember Clarkins Carousel tha twent out when I was in HS and I got some tools there on closeout. It was an Ames then they bulldozed it and put up a WalMart. PDQ was a drive in restaurant on62 and service was pretty darn quick.

Dec 23, 2014 · The Euclid Avenue Clarkins store was open 2 years and 2 months! How funny that to this very day (December 23, 2014) that the roof facade is still that of the original Clarkins. Evidently, Unishops was having some financial troubles and shuttered some stores as a result.
