Plan Your Trip - Discover Celbridge
Follow the R403 past all the beautiful scenery until you reach the bridge over the River Liffey, which will bring you into the village of Celbridge. There is plenty of parking in the center of village so you can enjoy the wonderful historical offering of the village.
The walking trail starts from the car park of Celbridge Abbey grounds. The trail takes you up the Main Street and continues with a loop walk around Castletown demesne, returning along the Main Street to the car park. Visits to Celbridge Abbey (admission is free) can be arranged by appointment, contact 087-9630719.
The Arthur Guinness Story | Discover Celbridge
Arthur Guinness, founder of the famous Guinness brewery at Saint James’s Gate in Dublin, was born in Celbridge in 1725 and lived there for 30 years. The inventor of probably the world’s greatest beer, and Ireland’s most famous export, is commemorated by a life-size bronze sculpture in the heart of the village.
