Camille-Léonie Doncieux (French pronunciation: [kamij leɔni dɔ̃sjø]; 15 January 1847 – 5 September 1879) was the first wife of French painter Claude Monet, with whom she had two sons. She was the subject of a number of paintings by Monet, as well as Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Édouard Manet.

After a cold winter in Paris which is clouded by poverty, Monet and Camille move to the countryside in spring 1868: first to Bennecourt, then to Le Havre. There, five works of Monet are shown in the International Marine Exhibition, and the artist is awarded a silver medal.

Camille met Monet in 1865 when she was 18 and working as a studio model. He was 25. Some art historians credit Monet’s success in wooing the beautiful Camille with giving him the confidence to attempt the ambitious Luncheon on the Grass .
