Please join us for the 6th annual California Avalanche Workshop. This is a preseason knowledge sharing gathering of the backcountry snow traveling tribe and an opportunity to analyze accidents, learn from pros, and network.

Below is a map of the advisory area. The color of the region corresponds to the current avalanche danger. Hovering over the region will show travel advice and the current danger rating. Clicking on the forecast area will take you to the current advisory.

Level 1 classes provide an introduction to recreational avalanche risk management for motorized users. These classes are free, thanks to funding from the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission.

Recognition of avalanche danger is an essential and potentially lifesaving skill for all who recreate in the winter. Learn how to manage the risk, where to find local bulletins and weather reports, and acquire simple ways to avoid avalanche hazards.
