Jan 27, 2010 · Here is the procedure (below) to move the seat without power. I have actually done this a couple of times, so I know it works (it just takes a while). It might actually be easier (and faster) to replace the motor with a good one from the other seat, if the motor is the only problem.

May 29, 2011 · The motor is the one at the front of the seat. It drives 2 x 90 degree drives at the front of each rail. The motor has what appears to be a black tube comming out of each end that go to the 90 degree drive.

Sep 8, 2007 · I've replaced mine and it's not that hard to do. Just need a Torx bit and a VERY flexible arm to reach both screws holding the motor in place. If you want to know for sure that it's a bad motor, relocate one of the other two motors into the one that's not working, then test again. If the problem follows the motor, then replace it.

Jun 30, 2016 · Seat will now tilt back to expose the motor; Power the seat forward will allow extra room. Unplug the connector to the motor to access the bracket & bolts holding the cable; Bend the bracket so that you can access the bolts; Use 8mm wrench to loosen all 3 bolts; no need to remove completely

Feb 10, 2012 · This exact thing happened to my 2003 Z4. I took the seat out and found that there are actually 2 motors that activate the recliner. One of them works but the other doesn't. The part number that works is part #130 002 618, I am still looking for part number 130 002 620 to replace the motor that doesn't work.

Dec 10, 2021 · Apparently the seat rails were missing 'Stop seat rail' - 52107382009 #9 in the diagram attached. Documentation received from the dealer refers to SIB 52.01.21. Seat was successfully calibrated after installing the stops.
