Jun 1, 2022 · I’m using an Arduino Uno in conjunction with CNC shield with 4 drivers a4988. I also need to run servo mg996r as a gripper. I can’t get the gripper to operate properly. I am assuming this is a wiring issue instead of code as the stepper motors operate fine until I hook up the servo.

Connect the external power to the shield, making sure you connect the power up the right way. If not connected correctly you can cause damage to the shield, stepper motor drivers and Arduino board.
