Dec 6, 2020 · Snagged a 5.45 Ace to mess with, I overpaid MSRP but not by much. Oh well, got one that's all that matters. What drew me in was a platform that used 5.45 mags, has optic rail, and already threaded 1/2x28. Doesn't hurt its IWI/IMI and a factory gun. I've got more 5.45 in the stash than anything so why not.

To replace the brace on you ACE you will need to remove the entire assembly and replace it with either one of the IWI US Galil ACE Folding Buttstock tubes and your choice of Padded or Flat Buttpad Stock. The fun with Galil Ace's was the added on fun of their media presence like video games and movies. That was all the Gen I. The Gen II was pretty much just a US market accommodation. Functionally its fine, but you lose a lot of the history and infamy along with it. Unfortunate that they discontinued the Gen II.

Aug 15, 2021 · Pictured is my new Galil Ace in 5.45x39 with 13" barrel. As for mods, I swapped out the brace for a CNC Warrior brace and installed the KNS plastic delete kit. I like this configuration and will probably leave it as it maintains the Ace aesthetic.

Aug 14, 2023 · I also have a gen 2 5.45 16in ace. I recently took possession of my first rifle can, a DA Sandman L. I went ahead and installed a KNS piston before I even shot the galil, bc I was so impressed with how it changed my 7.62 ak.
