It is easy to reload , works with basically any propellant, can accommodate heavy bullets and significantly out-performs the Lott. Its a heavy kicker, so you need a rifle with a decent amount of weight and a properly designed stock.

Mar 4, 2015 · I have a 450 Rigby as well, that I just had built by American Hunting Rifles in Montana and is based off of a CZ550 Magnum Action (DGR). The builder sent me his on personal load data, but a disclaimer, I've only used the Barnes loads so use at your own risk. He is a very knowledgable fellow so I'm sure they're good.

Jan 23, 2014 · The .450 Rigby is a real stopping caliber. For a more flexible rifle, you can load .450 rigby with 450 gr projectiles to over 2600fps, or more if you wish. I have have stuck with the 550 gr projectiles at between 2250 to 2300 fps and am happy with that, although higher velocity is possible, but not needed.

Jan 30, 2020 · I went with the big game 450 rigby ph which is a simgle square bridge with the rigby peep sight for a bit of nostalgia and I love it. My big game 416 is scoped and the 450 therefore suits me for open sight hunting and backup duty. If your ever down brisbane way your more than welcome to have a go with it before commiting to one. Jan 23, 2014 · The 450 Rigby is good but the Lott is just as good if you’re looking for 500 grains at 2,200 fps. In fact, one could argue that the Lott is better (more common, able to shoot 458 Win Mag in a pinch, etc.). Again, look to the rifle to make your decision. The Sako and Kimber really are quite different.
