Apr 10, 2018 · As far as thickness, Engine oil, gear oil, 00 grease and then grease. 00 or zero zero is a great choice as it still flows at low temperatures. Make sure the windows are up before the snow plow goes by !!

Oct 23, 2018 · Got this Ariens Yesterday with a Leaky Gearbox. Drained the Oil, and Filled with 00 Grease. Problem Solved, 5 Minute Fix. This gearbox was Easy to Fill from the Front as Pictured. If you have to Fill into a Plug Hole, it will take a While. 00 grease, about $5 qt. at TSC.

I have yet to call local small engine stores and find they usually prefer to service it vs selling parts. Oct 18, 2017 · The 00 grease is pour able so it should flow out of the fill hole if over full. Also, the warmer it is, the more it flows so you could warm it in a pan of water. 00 grease is far more fluid than I thought the first time I used it in the summer to grease my lawnmower wheels.

Oct 19, 2020 · I've already tried injecting 00 grease into the hole it doesn't actually go in because the air has no way out. You also have no way to know how much grease you have put in. It doesn't flow like oil. You have to disassemble the gearbox and "pack" the housing with the grease and then reassemble. I'm going to go with 80w90 instead.

Mar 22, 2021 · I did order and use the 00 grease (to the top) in my MTD auger gearbox; however I did also add a few drops of 3in1 machine oil before the grease as mentioned above by Shovel. The thin oil passes right through the gear box seam. This machine needs the thicker 00 grease. Thanks to all for assistance!

Dec 12, 2018 · Anybody had any issues with using OO cotton picker grease in a cast iron front end of an Ariens 924 series Snowblower. Ariens calls for L2 lube I have used it alot in leaky front ends,never had an issue. Just asking
