The Washington Capitals unveil a special permanent plaque in commemoration of the 2018 Stanley Cup championship celebration at the Washington Harbour fountain in Georgetown, D.C.

Alex Ovechkin and teammates T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson swam in the Washington Harbour fountain in Georgetown during their Stanley Cup celebration.

Capitals players Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie, who visited the fountain in 2018 during their Stanley Cup celebration, will make a special appearance and participate in the unveiling ceremony. Monumental Sports Network’s Alexa Landestoy will serve as the event host.

On Friday, the franchise will unveil a plaque next to the Washington Harbor fountain in Georgetown where Alex Ovechkin famously ditched his shirt and swam with the Stanley Cup in 2018. Stanley Cup champions T.J. Oshie and Nicklas Backstrom are expected to attend the celebration.
