The winter storm bringing heavy snow and ice to parts of the Midwest will also bring the threat of severe weather to parts of the South and Southeast on Wednesday.

Heavy rain continues to fall on parts of the ArkLaTex. This threat will continue through Wednesday morning. Our next weather concern is expected on Saturday as another cold front will trigger storms that possibly could be severe.

Brandon Black of the NWS Mobile office said "we can't rule out a tornado once again" as more severe weather heads toward Wednesday night.

Back-to-back storm systems will bring the potential for severe weather and flooding to the South over the next several days. Strong thunderstorms could produce damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes,

The primary severe weather threat is expected from late afternoon into Wednesday night as a cold front moves into the region. Storms should quickly exit near or shortly after midnight in most areas. The Storm Prediction Center continues to post a Level 2/5 (slight) risk of severe weather for most of our area on Saturday.

An early model is showing that we could see up to a foot of snow in parts of Southeast Michigan Wednesday into Thursday. Rep.
