Massive winter storm prompts weather warnings across several provinces
A huge winter storm is expected to descend across parts of Ontario and Quebec later on Wednesday and quickly spread across Atlantic Canada over the next two days, prompting Environment Canada to issue a flurry of weather warnings.
First Warn Winter Storm Update
Cloudy, with highs in the low 30s today. Tonight, flurries begin, with widespread snow overnight into Wednesday morning through the early afternoon.

On the other side of the country, Labrador City, N.L., is under an extreme cold warning, with the wind chill dipping as low as –50 C overnight on Wednesday. Meanwhile, up north, Iqaluit has a blizzard warning, and so does Dempster, Yukon.
Southern Ontario blanketed by snowfall and winter storm warnings
Some areas could see up to 35 cm of snow, hence the warnings across southern Ontario. Gusty winds will make for reduced visibility in blowing snow, even after the system has passed. Meteorologist Nadine Powell tells us when the snow arrives,
FIRST WARN WEATHER: Snow expected overnight and into Wednesday afternoon
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect starting midnight tonight and will continue until Wednesday evening. The bulk of the snow shower activity overall should begin between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Wednesday morning and remain constant through the morning timeframe, slowly beginning to break down as we make it closer to lunchtime.
