Astronomers are monitoring asteroid 2024 YR4, which has a slim 1.2% chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. Measuring between 40 and 100 meters wide, if it impacts, it could cause significant blast damage.

The European Space Agency has stated that the asteroid will safely pass through the Earth with 99% chance of not having any collision, however a possible impact "cannot yet be entirely ruled out".
