"One Piece" actor Mackenyu Maeda, known professionally as simply Mackenyu, has joined the voice cast of video game "Assassin’s Creed Shadows."

Syndicate isn't the only AC game that's tried to broaden our combat horizons. Ubisoft has been seeding the concept of a non-assassin Assassin's Creed hero for years now, permitting greater flexibility and choice with each new game.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is getting a prequel manga but not until after the game comes out, Ubisoft has announced. The company revealed on X/Twitter that, while the prequel manga will arrive in Japan on the game's release date of March 20, it won't arrive elsewhere until "later."

Assassin's Creed Shadows will get an official prequel story, fittingly told by a tie-in manga series. But rather than simply adapting the story of Ubisoft's upcoming feudal Japan stabathon, the series will instead be set some time prior.
