President Donald Trump says his administration has already had “very serious” discussions with Russia about its war in Ukraine and that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin could soon take “significant” action toward ending the grinding conflict.

Putin is planning more offensives, experts say, even though Donald Trump threatened Russia with tariffs if Moscow refused a peace deal.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said excluding his country from talks between the US and Russia about the war there would be “very dangerous.” He’s also asked for more discussions between Kyiv and Washington to develop a plan for a ceasefire.
