Sherrone Moore, Michigan football re-hire Biff Poggi in official capacity to Wolverines coaching staff; had previous served as Jim Harbaugh's associate head coach

After a tough stint as Charlotte’s head coach, Poggi returns to Ann Arbor under Sherrone Moore—though his exact role remains to be seen.

The Michigan Wolverines' coaching staff is set to reunite with a familiar face this offseason, bringing back a beloved figure to the Michigan sideline. According to On3's The Wolverine, former Michigan coach Biff Poggi is re-joining the Wolverines' staff in some capacity this season.

“Biff Poggi, most recently the head coach at Charlotte and previously associate head coach under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, is back with the Wolverines in an official capacity,” Alejandro Zúñiga said in a post.

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh spent the last week or so under serious fire due to happenings around the Michigan Wolverines. A current college head coach took a serious shot at Harbaugh. Then, an ESPN personality went out of his way to throw the word “fraud” at Harbaugh the person.

Poggi would return to Michigan in 2021 and was the associate head coach under Jim Harbaugh for two seasons. Then, Poggi became the head coach for Charlotte, although he went just 6-16 before being fired in November after four consecutive losses.
