Matthew Knies had two goals and an assist as the Toronto Maple Leafs held on late to down the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 on Monday night.

Matthew Knies appears to have suffered his second injury this season. The Toronto Maple Leafs faced a tough night on multiple fronts, suffering a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday and seeing key forward Matthew Knies exit the game with an upper-body injury. The injury occurred late in the second period when Knies delivered a hit on Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko but got the worst of it.

Stolarz was on the ice for approximately 40 minutes, including some time with the team, while Knies skated before Toronto's practice.

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube revealed that forward Matthew Knies is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Berube also stated that he doesn’t know when he will be available to return to the lineup.

Goaltender Anthony Stolarz was participating in practice with the Leafs for the first time since having knee surgery while Matthew Knies was absent from the team’s skate.
