A man was found dead in a roadway from a gunshot wound early Tuesday morning, according to the Lexington Police Department. Around 1:57 a.m. police received a report of shots fired on the 700 block of Rambling Creek Drive, near Liberty Road and Liberty Elementary School. Police said a man was found shot and he was declared dead on scene.

The coroner is at the scene of a Lexington police investigation. Officers got to the scene on Rambling Creek Drive around 2 a.m. Tuesday. WKYT’s crew saw the coroner’s van arrive less than an hour later.

The Lexington Police Department says they are investigating an overnight shooting that happened near the 700 block of Rambling Drive.
