World Cancer Day takes place every year today, on. It’s a day filled with hope, honor and recognition for everything people fighting the disease have gone through. This year, Princess Kate Middleton marked the day by sharing an update on her cancer journey.

The princess, who recently announced that her cancer was in remission, urged followers to nurture “that which lies beyond the disease.”

Kate, the Princess of Wales, is sharing both a personal message of hope and a personal photo in honor of World Cancer Day. Kate, who announced in January that she is in remission from cancer, shared a photo of herself Monday standing outside in nature with her arms stretched wide.
