Hawaiian Electric spokesperson provides update on power outages across the state
Approximately 9,000 to 10,000 customers are still without power Friday morning but HECO says crews are actively working to restore power, safely.
Hawaiian Electric: Power restored to most affected customers
On Maui, multiple outages have been reported, impacting thousands of customers in East Maui, the North Shore, Upcountry and the North Shore. As of 9:40 a.m., nearly 3,400 customers are without power in the Kula area. Hawaiian Electric said these outages are not Public Safety Power Shutoff related.

"We saw a lot of instances where we had tree branches breaking off, and contacting power lines or trees getting blown into power lines. And so our crews were very busy, throughout the night, and they're continuing working on addressing all those problems and restoring power.
