The UConn Huskies (23-3, 14-0 Big East) are back in action when they travel to Columbia, South Carolina, on Sunday for a Top-10 showdown against defending national champion No. 4 South Carolina (22-2) at 1 p.m. The game will air live on ABC.

The matinee matchup between South Carolina and Texas drew over 1 million viewers, according to ESPN public relations. At one point the game peaked at a whopping 1.3 million viewers, ESPN PR said Tuesday. That makes it the most-watched college women’s basketball game on ESPN this season.

The Fighting Irish replaced South Carolina in the second spot behind UCLA after the Gamecocks lost 66-62 to Texas over the weekend. It is Notre Dame’s best ranking since the team was No. 1 on Jan. 21, 2019. The Bruins remained the unanimous No. 1 choice of the 31-member media panel.

The Longhorns ended the Gamecocks' 57-game conference win streak in front of a sold-out crowd, as coach Dawn Staley had not lost an SEC game since December 2021. Texas guard Madison Booker led the way with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while post Kyla Oldacre added 13 points, six rebounds and an assist.
