Boston Mayor Michelle Wu dismissed assertions from her newly announced opponent Josh Kraft that she’s a leader who “does not listen” and is disconnected from community concerns, while hitting back by portraying him as a carpetbagger.

Mayor Wu is both gearing up for a competitive race against Kraft and preparing to testify before Congress about Boston's "sanctuary" policies.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu brought her newborn daughter to work at City Hall on Tuesday. Mira Wu Pewarski was born on Jan. 13 at 2 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches. She is the third child of the mayor and her husband, Conor.
