Web-based design platform Canva has acquired the Affinity creative software suite, positioning itself as a challenger to Adobe’s grip over the digital design industry.

Serif has launched a new six-month free trial for its Affinity creative suite, which is regarded as one of the few viable alternatives to Adobe’s professional design apps.

Affinity Designer, Affinity Publisher, and Affinity Photo have all been updated to version 1.8.6, bringing compatibility with macOS Big Sur, and native optimization for the Apple Silicon M1 processor.
