The lookup function in Excel can save you a lot of time and effort, but only if you actually know how to use its many forms and alterations.
The FIND() function returns the position of the found character. As you can see, ... the position of the first hyphen in K2445-B2100. The MID() function then uses the value 6 (plus 1) to return B.
You probably know how to use the MAX() and MIN() functions, to return the latest and earliest dates, respectively, in a range. But, how would you grab a corresponding value for that date?
