Besides the motor, there are two major components to the spinning wheel: the flyer and the bobbin. A Scotch tension brake is used to slow the rotation of the bobbin in relation to the flyer.
This wheel has the time written out in 10 minute intervals which is indicated by a marker. Powering all of this is an Arduino Micro telling a 5V stepper motor when to stop.
