The Azure Bot Service simplifies building and deploying bots, using the C# and Node.js support in Azure’s serverless computing functions and calls to the various Cognitive Services APIs.

Not only have Microsoft's Bot Framework and Service been updated, but new AI functionality and language capabilities have been introduced for apps that leverage Azure Cognitive Services as well.

Microsoft announced the Azure Bot Service preview on November 15. The service is built on Azure Functions, its serverless compute service , which allows bots to scale on demand.

The Bot Framework SDK also is better integrated with Microsoft Teams now, officials said. Last but not least, Microsoft has enabled the Bot Framework (using the SDK 4.8 or later) to connect to Alexa.

You can even build bots that listen and speak using Azure Communications Service and give the bot slightly different things to say when it’s typing or talking to someone.
