Nintendo is possibly hoping to steer the narrative regarding the Switch 2 back in a positive direction by showing off its most exciting game, Mario Kart World. The publisher held a Mario Kart World direct presentation on April 17th debuting 15 minutes of gameplay which showcased many of the game’s new features.

Nintendo Switch 2 webcam support is built-in, so you can even see your friends' faces as they infuriatingly zoom past you across the finish line. Interestingly, the camera also works with local play, recognizing up to four people's faces in one frame and putting those faces in the game during races.

Nintendo confirmed that the Mario Kart World Nintendo Direct will take place on April 17, 2025. As officially confirmed by Nintendo beforehand, the broadcast lasted for just over 15 minutes.
