NASCAR will award the driver and team with the fastest lap in each Cup, Xfinity and Truck points race with a bonus point this season. The award will be known as the Xfinity Fastest Lap award and go to the eligible driver and team in each race.

Drivers in all three NASCAR national series will have an additional way to earn points in 2025. NASCAR competition officials announced Monday that drivers who record the fastest lap in every points-paying race — the Xfinity Fastest Lap — will earn one additional bonus point in both the driver and owner standings.
