All the rumors turned out to be true as the San Antonio Spurs have acquired star guard De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings. Fox had been pushing for a deal to get himself to San Antonio and the sides have now agreed to a deal. The Chicago Bulls are also in the deal, having sent two-time All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine to the Kings.

This trade doesn’t make the Spurs instant championship contenders. But their status as master thieves is indisputable.

The Bulls will generate a $26 million trade exception for Zach LaVine by taking Kevin Huerter into the existing exception from the DeMar DeRozan trade with Sacramento, and by taking Tre Jones into their unused nontaxpayer midlevel exception.
