Disney’s extraordinarily expensive Star Wars hotel isn’t coming back. The building that housed the Galactic Starcruiser is being converted into office space, scuppering hopes that it could be reborn or repurposed into a new interactive attraction.

Galactic Starcruiser hotel, which closed its doors to guests last September and was estimated to cost $1 billion to develop, will be converted into office space for Walt Disney Imagineering.

According to a new story from The Wrap, the Galactic Starcruiser won’t be transformed into an expansion for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, or any other guest-facing operation. Instead, the plan is to make the building offices for Walt Disney Imagineering, the arm of the Walt Disney Company tasked with creating its theme park experiences.

Disney World is converting the shuttered Star Wars hotel into office space for the famous Imagineers who will be designing new lands and projects at the theme parks. The hotel’s update was reported by The Wrap and confirmed by other media outlets.
