A federal judge ruled on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration violated a court order by halting the disbursement of hundreds of millions of dollars in Federal Emergency Management Agency grants to states.

US District Judge James Boasberg said Thursday that he is looking at whether “probable cause” exists to hold Trump administration officials in contempt for violating his orders halting the use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members.

The judge, James E. Boasberg, said he was likely to wait until next week to rule on whether the White House was in contempt of court for having ignored his order.
