Many cars and homes in the Buffalo area were buried under snow after the region became the center of a deadly winter storm that paralyzed two thirds of the country over the Christmas holiday.

Looking at data for temperatures, snow amounts, and snowstorms, Lake Erie ice cover and water temperatures over many decades, it is clear that winters are changing in Western New York.
